I solved the problem my getting myself a cheap M$ Sindewinder 3D which takes some getting used to, but does allow a lot of mouvement and MW4 seems to be build around this Joystick. Because of the MW3 reticule independance from the light of sight, the mouse-keyboard combo is what I used for MW3 (I think it is

Saitek Cyborg 3D Joystick
You get on-screen display when Fn-combo key is pressed, you can switch between internal/external display, control wireless power, display blanking, etc., keyboard light (Thinklight is a tiny white LED embedded into display cover topedge) is my favorite I ALWAYS used in favor of running obnoxiou sroom lights,

<POLL> Mouse/keyboard or gamepad for FPS???
Got to have a free hand for keyboard. Biggest gripe with the spaceball is lack of support. I am glad to know that a company like logitech is at work on 3d controllers to help come out with the ulimate controller. I can't suggest any ideas at this time as to what would top the mouse, keyboard combo.

Saw the Cyborg 3D and it looks/feels like exactly what I want: http://www.saitekusa.com/products/cyborgs/cstick.html So, some questions for anyone who has I don't use any of the buttons or the throttle, since I am so used to my joystick/keyboard combo setup. 5. How bad is the drift when you let go of the stick?

Joystick Config Suggestion Wanted
... alt games dark-forces ZyberGoat wrote Screw the joystick, you've got to play the best way - mouse & keyboard combo. Use a 3 button mouse (Logitech Mouseman or First Mouse+ suggested) for movement and freelook, and keyboard for commands, etc. It's the only way to play 3d shooters. (Note, this is just my opinion.

I'm bored so thought of a new idea in UT2004...
Lethal then smashed Lethal with a computer keyboard. I think the P and Q went flying into the stands. The fans chanted for tables. After Shelley and Sabin did their combo tag moves, Team 3D gave Sabin the 3D in center ring. Shelley then ate the 3D for good measure. Lethal tried to make the save, but Ray smashed him

With the mouse and keyboard combo you'll get much more flexibility. Maagic wrote in message <35648CA8.FECE8...@cybrtyme.com>... and you have a 10 button mouse? Mr. Magoo wrote: The only games I play are 3d action games like quake 2 and jedi knight. I was thinking of buying a SpaceOrb 360.

I also use to use a Sidewinder 3d Pro and keyboard combo for Quake1, was very good at it. Then "upgraded" to and Assassin 3d to go with the Sidewinder. Now I'ma mouse and keyboard person. I'd say the mouse/keyboard is the best route for most people. -- -FaNaTiC- "B2" <b2...@accessunited.com> wrote in message

By the time Quake was starting to get dull, I was using a SpaceOrb 360. For Quake 2, I've graduated to the mouse + keyboard combo and my kill/death efficiency has never been better

New joystick, what to get?
This is a great mouse, I have the mouse/keyboard combo for my home theater ($170, Futureshop). However, it's not true that it has no line-of-sight limitations. There can be interferences (such as coming from an HDTV monitor) in which case you need to relocate the USB dongle and clear a path between it and the mouse

favorite way to control FPS
Now I hate to play any 3D game that does not allow Mlook. A necessary transition, which I wasn't too keen to take up at first, although that's probably more to rather than later, so after playing through Duke Nukem with the keyboard, I forced myself to play through it all again with a mouse/keyboard combo.

new to quake, love it!...should I buy it?
That's supposed to give you unheard-of performance on 3d games. Unfortunately, I just can't find it in any stores anymore... But, if you're willing to try (and practice!) using the mouse & keyboard combo, here's my setup: mouse1: fire mouse2: duck movement is freelook(a bit disorienting at first, but worth it) w:

Disappointment with Half-life. and Mousers
All of it rendered in a magnificent true 3D environment which again (like Drakan) puts TR's lego block layout to shame. * The Controls, Moves, and Views Again it's a mouse/keyboard combo control system that utterly conquers the wimpy arrow-key/gamepad play. There's not much more to be said here either.

So why does everyone mention Doom as the Standard in 3D shooter games? Simple enough, Wolfenstein was nifty and all, and the add on graphics and levels were I hate that little analog joystick and this game screams for a mouse/keyboard combo. I guess it's just the Quake'r in me. :-> I'd love to see this game on

Panther XL: can anyone use this thing?
But the 3D games now require so much mouse/keyboard combo work that you arguably can't even shoot people in many cases if you played just by the cursor keys. But 3D mania is creeping into strategy games too. There were numerous games that boasted how you could spin the world in every direction, zoom in to the

mouse.keyboard combo was very uncomfortable at first, but after awhile I got used to it. Hmmm. I suppose then I should just keep plugging at it :). For most 3D shooters on my PC, I generally always played with my standard GamePad -- and was quite deadly with it as well :). To me the best setup using the

Examples here: http://www.fentek-ind.com/trackball-keyboard.htm Seems you would have all the functionality of a mouse/keyboard combo. Controls for a Newbie
I'm 30 and play them all the time. I guess 3D-shooters belong on a playstation or whatever, not on a PC. Oh, that's absolutely wrong. Joypads are grossly insufficient controllers for FPS games. The mouse+keyboard combo is still the king. ---------------------------------------------------- Vulcan Dragon -=UDIC=-

Mac Mini for Graphix & games
I also thought the control on the Jag was a little too loose. A problem on the PC was that the control was okay speed on the keyboard but the mouse/keyboard combo let you be fast and precise. Sorry for the "qualifications." I'm just tired of hearing from guys like the jagrulz whatever guy.
